Eating Tips for Fast Gallstones Recovery after Surgery

Although there are alternatives of Gallstones surgery, all of them make your body digest fatty food worse. Thus, you should select the right food for a better recovery.

 

Eating little but often

Increase the number of meals and lower the quantity of each meal. If you use to take 3 meals a day, then, change to 5-6 meals a day but the quantity should be 25-50% of the previous consumption. Plus, you should not eat after 7pm because it is the time that your digestive system rests from workload which might lead to flatulence and fats accumulation in your body as all cannot be digested.

 

Intake digestible food

You should intake soft food, such as, congee, porridge, boiled egg or steamed egg (avoid having a lot of yolk) fish, boiled chicken, tofu soup or vegetables soup. You should not eat pork, beef, raw vegetables, raw fruits and instant food as it contains high sodium and fats.

 

Eat Fats wisely

Rather than having fatty food, fried food and stirred food, however, meals you intake should be boiled and stewed, at the same time, an ingredient should not be consisted of fats. This does not mean you have to stop eating fats as some type of fat are useful and important. Accordingly, you have to choose it right, for examples, fats from fish which contains Omega 3. Moreover, when you cook, you should use olive oil, canola oil, soybean oil and sunflower oil and rice bran oil.

 

In fact, fats that you should avoid are fats from red meat, fats that pass high temperature, trans fat and fats from cooking oil with hydrogen including saturated fat from palm oil, coconut oil, butter, milk, yolk as well as coconut milk.

 

Properly select Vegetables and Fruits

Eat vegetables that are good for your digestive system, such as, cucumber, roselle and red onion. If you eat raw vegetables, make sure you eat organic vegetables and chew it carefully as raw vegetables takes time to be digested. If you like salad, select vinegar salad dressing. Drink fresh water, vegetables or fruit juice. Nevertheless, be careful of high sugar fruits.

 

Apart from food, after a fresh surgery, you should not work too hard including having a long travel or do any extreme activity to prevent the lesion from being ruptured.
