Asthma in children

Children are compared as their parent’s heart. No matter what happens parents will do everything to protect their own child. And one of the diseases that children usually infected is “asthma” For that reason, here are some information for parents to prepare a care for the children.

Knowing about “ Asthma”

Asthma is a disease that our body irregularly reacts when allergens are found. Causing chronic inflammation at respiratory tract, bronchial disorders which muscles are contracted. Including, bronchial epithelium has edema.  And the epithelium has more sputum.

There are three major causes of asthma; genetic, allergens in the air such as dust, cockroaches, fungus, pollen or pets. That includes additional factors for example, respiratory disease infections as laryngotracheitis, sinusitis, and nasal irritation from dust, smoke, perfume, temperature change, exercising, including mental state.

Initial symptoms

Start with a cough at night and after doing exercise, or after a cold weather. Including being allergic of smoke causes abnormal breathing. Especially when breath in and out. Or there is pectus excavatum while breathing at the position of the rib. Or on the back of the neck.

Asthma Treatment

Treatment … is divided into 3 ways as follows
1.  Monitoring some of allergens that are produced by dust, pets, and cockroaches. Including the accumulation of allergens such as mattress, rugs, furniture, and clothes.

2. Treatment with drugs including other methods as medicine, asthma inhaler. Which provide a quick result and less side effects. Or some drug control; most of them are steroids that help reducing bronchial inflammation. Beside, nasal washing with saline solution can reduce allergens attached to the nose hair, or olfactory epithelium as well.

3. Vaccination; in this case, will apply to those who receive fully medicine treatment. But the treatment is unable to control the symptoms well. Including, patients who have side effects from medication, those who cannot avoid contacting with allergens. And the last group is patients who did not cooperate with medical treatment from a doctor’s discretion.

If you notice that your child has the symptoms above then take him to see a doctor in for early detection. Whether the child has asthma or not before the problem from sleep apnea causes some serious consequences to the body.
